December 23rd, 2016 - Eli

So 2016, what a year. Dawn and Eli have been just fine in their new home. They love cats, they love life. They acquired a new gato named ruckus this year. He has been a but of a poop terrorist but they do love his little face.

He is also an escape artist. Dawn launched an investigation into his extracurricular activities, and concluded through much surveillance that he was escaping by hiring local possums as coyotes to leave the sovereign nation of smellcircus. So far he hasn’t ventured much past the neighbor’s yard but I imagine in the near future he will have much wilder adventures.

Hammy after a brief protest and hunger strike accepted that he wasn’t going to leave immediately. She still hates his guts with a passion and will smack him in the face at any opportune moment. She also believes that he is an inferior being and she is the queen and should be shown respect.

Eli has a photography show coming up for the Jazz and Heritage Foundation it starts Feb 4 and runs for a month. His photos from the Class Got Brass competition will be featured. Its his first solo show and he is quite excited.

Dawn has been churning away at work, not loving it all the time but it is rewarding and she likes the people she treats… Well sometimes. She has made new friends here and is working on her gardening skills slowly but surely. The back yard thanks her and so do the lizards, butterfly’s, frogs, and possums that like to hang out there.

For the holidays they will be keeping it low key, going to some bonfires on the bayou with old friends and new, Stuffing Stockings for each other in a declaration of continued love for one another, And last but not Least Rolling with the Lady Rollers on Christmas Day. The weather is in the high 60’s low 70’s with some fog each day but its amazing to be out and about in t-shirts and jeans.

Christmas on the Bayou is a strange time of year. No snow, its green, no tourists to speak of. Lots of Parties, friends, events, outdoor activities to attend. Dawn and Eli hope some year you can make it into their holiday plans and have a warm Christmas.

Happy Holidays from the SmellCircus Team
