Every year people gather here for miles and miles and on the levee’s they erect high piles of wood. Once erected people party for a while until the sun goes down and on Christmas Eve they light them all up and it is supposed to light the way for Santa.
For me it’s a little simpler, It’s just some awesome pagan pre-Christian primal urge to burn stuff.
We went with friends and walked the top of the levee.
We parked about a mile down the road because traffic was so crazy.
This is one Christmas tradition I can get behind.
