Our house is full of glittery costume debris and it won’t be clean for another week. This is how we do it. The cats have glitter on them they sleep in the piles of paper, cardboard, wigs, fabric. They love this time of year almost as much as we do.

“The New Orleans’ spirit is about celebrating life; whatever the situation may be. This spirit is the basis for Anba Dlo- we come together to celebrate New Orleans’ important and changing relationship with water while educating on the important issues. Anba Dlo (Pronounced “Ahnbah Dlo”) is Haitian Kreyol for “Beneath the Waters” and is meant to acknowledge and honor the importance of water in our life.”

Super Sunday you get to see indians. Not the bang bang shot em up kind you grew up with but an amazing tradition dating back way further than I have time to truly explain properly. For more info click here.
We get up around 10am, slide out of bed and start our day like normal. The morning glides by and its noon before we know it. We mount the metal 2 wheeled steeds (bikes) and take off towards A.L. Davis Park. We stroll through the French quarter green beer, green hats and beads adorn the people in the quarter. Its almost St Patricks day so people are getting ready. We landed on the Ho Chi Minh trail. Phong Nha-ke Bang National Park is a beautiful immense moutaneous cave region just a couple hours above HUE.
We took the overnight train to Dong Hoi We stop at the Quang Ly Hostel for coffee banana pancakes and conversation with another traveler. The owner’s husband drives a taxi. Read the rest of this entry »
