It’s been a while since I have wrote anything of any significance. I guess as you get older or you get more involved you just space it out half the time and don’t remember what you wanted to say in the first place. Much like when your looking for something and when you forget halfway through the search what your looking for.. Umm what was I in this room for? Fuck it lets take a nap. That’s old age setting in mind you and you should be fucking terrified. Soon you will be forgetting to go pee and you will just pee your pants all the time and don’t even get me started about remembering to put on pants.

With all that nonsense being said, its hard to remember the last time I really carted about my own birthday. I’ve had some great parties that I can’t remember for sure. Some pretty good times and just general drunken randomness. But it seems like they just keep getting faster and faster. Well this birthday I don’t really know what to do so I’m just rambling here on the blog that dawn setupnd keeps sweating that she will update. Sure dawn.. sure… haha. .

I guess lately I’ve just taken my photos to a new level. I’m letting that do the talking so technically I’ve wrote something like 60 thousand words. I mean it feels like that, I have become a way way better photographer, since I moved to new orleans. I have started exploring taking photos of people something way way way harder than shooting anything else. Like buildings, or anything else really. Making people look good and capturing real moments has fascinated me since I started shooting. I just didn’t have the balls to do it until now or maybe it was something else. Who knows.

Comments Off on Friends with Benefits

Since we last spoke we have survived mardi gras and had many guests Its been so long that I have almost forgot how to form a sentence. We had almost the whole 10100 crew arrive for mardi gras and we had some of the best costumes out there. The excitement ran almost as high as the booze intake as you can see from the photos below.

As you can see we declared a war on sobriety and won in glorious fashion. It was a true test of endurance, boozing, friendship and glitter.

Comments Off on December and the new year

Well another amazing month here in the crescent city. We miss you all and wish you were here. With that said we are also glad sometimes to have downtime, even if we choose not to be down.

We started the month off right with the krewe of jingle. Dawn and the pussyfooters were in the largest christmas parade of the year here. It’s pretty amazing that she gets to do that, and I get to tag along without any hassle.

This was the last big event I shot with my canon 5D MK II and then I sold it.

Comments Off on October November.. WOW

What a wild couple months,
We have been to nyc and back, had thanksgiving in Brooklyn, danced in the streets, I have sold most my camera gear (tis the season to get me new gear) I have a new laptop on the way well shortly and Ive re-done my personal website elimergel.com let me know what you think. Dawn has been working hard, I have been hard at trying to work, working on myself learning new things each day and becoming a pretty decent cook.

We love this city, not to brag but when I look at your weather, I smile. Its so amazing we live somewhere where its cold today in the 50’s. Not bad for december, our lemon tree actually produced some fruit this year, our cats caught some lizards and butterflies. We got out in our canoe and I’ve been looking at doing a little online schooling for design and website stuff. Were ramping up for mardigras season with guests coming pretty much through the season, we can’t wait. if your coming please let us know, leave a comment, send an e-mail you know how to contact us if your reading this website.

Comments Off on Farewell Caroline, and farewell August.

Another month came and gone, another guest as well, seems faster every time. The months fly buy when your out doing things, and having fun. We spent quite a bit of this month camping and at the beach so that was fantastic, and it went by so fast with labor day I have even included some of the labor day parade photos from here.

We spent time making new friends, and seeing old ones (not that old).

The thrashers, came, they saw, they took us out and didn’t let us pay for anything and we had a great time. To Kelly, Sandy, Jeff, Matt, Rachel and Tammy thanks for coming. I hope you make it back down sometime, we loved having you.

IMG 0692

We had a blast and showed them some of our favorite spots to eat, drink, and dance.

IMG 0706

We hit up the world famous acme oyster house and slurped down some oysters.

IMG 0685

Had fancy cocktails at melange just down the street. (its a bar themed in the style of an old speak easy, including the same music, and amazing dancers)

IMG 0704

There were some late night story telling / show and tell sessions.

IMG 0695

We hit up the spotted cat for one of the best musical experiences you can have in New Orleans, if you ask me. I’m also biased because its 2 blocks from my house.

IMG 0682

I got to show off my fancy new red table I finished just in time for them to show up and use.

IMG 0681

Thanks for coming guys. Come again.
