Wave March for Justice – Baton Rouge – July 10 2016

Full Album

The protest for the first half of the day was handled well by both the police and the protesters. The three young women all under 18 who put together the “Wave March for Justice” were amazing. The message was powerfull and quite moving. Its a ray of hope in this dark time to see such young faces so positive and emotional. If you pray, pray for these kids they will change the future.

After the official protest, a group of protestors broke off. The goal like some of the protests the day/night before was to shut down the highway. They made a couple attempts to get on the freeway and the police stopped them. They were breaking the law by attempting to be on interstate property.

The police said that once you break the law, running onto private property does not make you “safe”. They then started arresting anyone in the street and some people on private property. So even though how it was handled wasn’t great the blame is on both sides. The protesters were clearly provoking there right to protest, and be civilly disobedient, its the second part that gets you arrested.

In this day and age you need some sensationalism to even make the news so it seems like a good tactic, to bring attention.
