Day 20
I get up feeling bad. Rough start. I’m super tired and didn’t sleep. I lie around the room most of the day watching the geckos in the shade. Listening to the frogs outside.
In the afternoon the bats show up. They eat the bugs that want to bite me. I like the bats.
Dawn and I walk down to see the sunset. It’s beautiful. The squid boats just make me laugh. Some of them are like floating hot tubs. We walk through the night market again. It’s Valentine’s Day so everyone is trying to sell us flowers. Or cakes or whatever they think we will buy. We take a stroll and stop for ice cream. Happy Valentine’s Day.
We walk back and check out s pier. We found the spot where the locals hang. It’s nice to see so many people out. We buy lottery tickets from a kid. We will never know if we win. We stroll out and watch the sunset boats stroll in and out of the bay. It’s lit up with crazy lights all for Tet we guess.
On the way back up the beach towards home we stop for a glass of wine and to just enjoy the last night on the beach. Vietnam has been so good to us we can’t wait to return. It’s such a wonderful place and so vast it’s almost impossible to see it all.
Phu Quoc had been a great end to our journey but there is so much more to see. So we have a next time list and it’s pretty long. But until then thank everyone for following along. Tomorrow is a trace day for us so no guarantee we anything will be posted.
